Uniform by grade and style of dance. For a trial, comfortable clothes you can move in and a bottle of water are enough.
(no nuts or products containing nuts)
Trials
For a trial class, dancers should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely, such as a T-shirt and leggings. There is no need to purchase a dance uniform before deciding to continue. For girls in the following classes – preschool, pre-primary, preliminary 1 and preliminary 2, a removable skirt and convertible tights are helpful if available.
Once you have decided to continue, children and teenagers should have the appropriate uniform and footwear for their class. Adult dancers should purchase ballet shoes.
Sparkle Steps
Comfortable clothing that both child and parent/guardian can move freely in, such as leggings and a T-shirt.

Jazz and Contemporary
If you also attend a ballet class, you can wear the uniform from your other class.
Otherwise, please wear a black t-shirt with black shorts or leggings. Hair should be neatly tied back in a low ponytail or plaits.
This applies to our Jazz and Contemporary classes unless a specific requirement is given by your teacher.
Acro
If you also attend a ballet class, you can wear the leotard from your other class, otherwise a black leotard. Students must wear a leotard for health and safety reasons for spotting.
Leaps & Turns
Wear the uniform from your other class, depending on your ballet grade.
Adults
As ballet is very much about posture, we do encourage our adult dancers to wear a leotard, ballet tights, detachable skirt and wrap. However it’s far more important to wear clothing that you are confident and comfortable to move freely, such as a T-shirt and leggings.
Socks are fine during the trial period but ballet shoes are recommended once you decide to continue for the full term. Please bring a bottle of water.
Please label all uniform, shoes and personal belongings with your dancer’s name. This makes it much easier to return anything that gets left behind!
Uniforms are sold at Dance World, not at the school. Take the uniform list with you — they can help with bun and shoe fitting, including pointe when the teacher has said it’s time.
